"I don't think so," I told her. "I believe both neighborhoods can only be accessed from Columbia Pike. Did you see any houses that might be suitable for us?"

"Not really," Bianka replied apologetically. "There were some homes with solar panels, but not many. Some had privacy fences on the backyards, but no barbwire, of course. In this section of Prelude, it doesn't look like anyone kept their place up long after the shitdown."

  "Shitdown?"

"Yeah, when all the shit went down," she replied with a smile. "The shitdown."

"Anyway," Jada interrupted our humorous discussion. "Nothing looks that good here. The doors are busted off the school in the two entrances I saw. One hallway even has a pickup truck parked in it. I'm not sure what their plan was there. We should probably check out the other houses and streets nearby. Do we want to split up?"

"No!" I said emphatically. Stella and Alexa echoed the sentiment. We needed to stick together from here on. Or at least for a while. I didn’t want to risk losing track of anyone.

"Give me a minute," I told my ladies. They were all looking to me for guidance, but I had just woken up. I needed to shake the fog from my brain and access my memories to think clearly. My real memories.

"Are you okay?" Stella asked with a look of genuine concern.

"He's fine," Riley told her with a touch of her skinny fingers on the younger girl's knee. "He does this meditation thing every morning to help him make decisions. We should probably stay quiet until he is done."

I turned and faced the small patch of woods behind the house. There were a couple swings attached to a wooden tower playset with plastic fake rock wall. A soiled sweatshirt draped over one of the swings. Beneath the wooden platform I spotted some bones and fur. Rotting carcasses. It had become a common thing to see.

There were some worn paths through the woods. Whether they were caused by animals or people, I couldn't be sure. The significant amount of trash scattered around told me that this yard had been passed through regularly. It wouldn't make a good location for us to avoid detection.

I focused on a tiny sapling, not even three feet tall, swaying in the slight breeze. Controlling my mind and body I started with breathing exercises. A slow breath in. Hold it for just a second, then release slowly. Relax every muscle. Close my eyes and sense everything around me by other senses. I had become so used to it that I was ready to analyze our situation after just two minutes.

"We need to assess what we have and what we need soon," I told the girls as I reopened my eyes to see the woods in a whole new light. No longer a trashy backyard full of debris, it represented a new start as I focused on what was living and thriving.

"That's a good idea," Jada replied.

"And we need to find a temporary place of shelter close by to use until we decide on a permanent new home," I said next. "It doesn't need power or a fence. Just doors that lock and an interior space that isn't full of insects and disease."

"A house two doors down fits that description," Bianka said. “We can be comfortable there for the short term.”

I turned to face them as I continued. "That will allow us to be choosy and patient. Our new place for the long term will need to be remote and have solar panels that I can get operational again. We can do without a fence if we have to. It doesn't have to be in great shape, either. We can clean it up and make repairs just like we used to do."

"And a place where I can start a new farm," Stella added.

One by one each of the women joined in the discussion with the things they were looking forward to having again. We were all ready to settle back down, but we knew there would likely be a lot of work ahead of us. Our last place was a gift. We couldn't possibly get that lucky again, I thought.

I looked at Bianka to ask her where this house was that she thought would do us temporarily. That's when I noticed how dirty her clothes were. Blood and puke stains for sure. Maybe some river mud, too. Even her legs were filthy. She was such a proud woman regarding her physical appearance. I didn't ever recall seeing her such a mess. How dirty was her belly when I licked it? I instinctively wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, which wasn't any cleaner.

"The beige brick house on the other side of that one," Bianka pointed. "The doors were closed but not locked. Some people were living in there after the shitdown, but they've been gone for months. It is reasonably clean. I didn't spot anything dead on the first floor, and the odor wasn't that bad either."

"Well, that's one thing checked off the list," I said as I stood up. I noticed Riley was still barefoot. We would need to find her another pair of shoes soon before she steps on something sharp. The others joined me as I started walking in the direction that Bianka indicated. "Let's get in there for a thorough examination. We'll want it as livable as possible before we sleep there tonight."

"I can't believe that I slept outside this morning," Alexa murmured. “That’s the first time since I was a kid camping with my family.”

There were some murmurs of agreement. As bad as the world had become, we were fortunate to always have a secure place to sleep, even when I slept on the floor of the beer store.

"Next is our weapons, ammo and supplies," I stated.

Jada raised the sniper rifle in her hand, "I have my rifle with just seven rounds left. Your assault rifle has a full extra clip. We have twenty or so bullets left for Stella's pistols."

"I don't want to have to kill anyone else," Stella muttered. If it weren't for the life and death situations that we kept finding ourselves in, she might have refused to fire a single shot.

"The sub-machine-gun that we acquired from that last guy has less than half a clip," Jada continued. "There were definitely more weapons back there, but we didn't have time to claim them in our hurry to escape the flames."

  "Anything else?"

"I think that is it," Jada answered.

"I have my knives," Bianka added. "And my stakes."

"Yes, we a few knives as well," Jada responded. "And a couple pointy sticks."

Bianka's head snapped around to look at Jada. She didn't like her security partner downplaying the value of her cherished weapons. I recalled how effective she had been with them before, and the metal points that shot out the ends. But Jada was just joking, of course.

"We don't have enough water to last us the rest of the day," Riley told me. "We'll need at least one meal today as well if we are planning to get any work done."

I stopped in my tracks. Food and water needed to be the first priority. "Have we raided these two houses yet?"

"Just the first one," Riley answered. Her sundress was clinging to her slender body. No one’s clothes had completely dried yet from our river expedition. It was as revealing as a wet t-shirt contest, though none of them were looking their sexiest at the time. "We found a half gallon of water there, but no real food."

"This second house looked pretty picked over, too," Bianka said. "But we didn't check the cabinets or the basement. It might be worth looking."

Bianka and Jada had done all the searching thus far, while I was sleeping. I told them to guard the front and back doors as the rest of us examined every cupboard and crevice in the place. There was a time when this was our daily lives. Scavenging had become the most essential survival skill after civilization ended.

We found a box of crackers, a dozen cans of vegetables, and some beef jerky that was hidden in a sock drawer upstairs. There were candy bars, too, but they were melted onto the bottom of the drawer. That wasn't too bad for five-minutes-worth of work.

The beige brick house that Bianka had selected was in much better condition than the other two. But it was completely void of food and water. The furniture was in decent shape. Aside from a layer of dust, the place was actually tidy. Whoever holed up here kept the place fairly nice. Instead of a ransacked zombie house, as many homes had turned into, this was more like an abandoned vacation home. Dusty but otherwise clean.

"Can't we just stay here?" Alexa asked. She meant long term. I co
uld tell she was just tired and not completely serious. She had grown too used to the comforts associated with having electricity to want to settle without.

"We might have to," I replied, not wanting to shut her down. We were all tired and sore. I could see myself resting comfortably in this house for a day or two before searching for a replacement. But certainly not forever.

We checked the locks to make sure they still worked. Propping dining room chairs under the doorknobs added some level of security. But the windows weren't boarded up. Most still had their glass panes intact. That wouldn't be enough to stop an intruder, though. At least the first-floor windows were a good seven feet off the ground. Someone would need to drag something over to climb on to bust in. Unless we have multiple people looking to get inside. They could just climb up each other instead.

Alexa was already sitting on the couch when I returned to the living room. She looked utterly exhausted. Her clothes were torn a little, and dirty too. Just not as bad as Bianka's. She had some scratches on her sexy slender legs that probably came from crawling through brush to get out of the river. I knew it wouldn't be long before she would want to return to her former natural beauty. I needed to get her a nice place.

There was a time before when some of the other girls thought Alexa to be lazy. Her taking a seat first might bring back those notions. The last thing that we needed at this point was negativity. I sat down beside her and put my arm around her shoulders.

One by one everyone returned to the living room for a moment of much needed relaxation. Riley gestured for Stella to sit beside me while she herself sat on the arm of the sofa. There were two recliners facing us, each of which soon had a sexy firm ass in them. Bianka and Jada.

That was our full complement at the time. Just me and five girls. It had been that way ever since I woke up from my alternate reality dream state. Maybe it would stay like that from here on.

"I hope Ling is okay," Stella said sadly as if reading my mind. She looked like she just might start crying, so I put my other arm around her and pulled both wives to my chest.

"Why doesn't anybody miss Jamila?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm sure that you do, dear," Alexa replied. That brought on some laughter from the group. It was really good to hear, even if it was poking fun at someone that I held dear to me.

"I bet Bianka misses her, too," I defended the missing young woman. More giggles then but directed at our female loving friend.

"She does have a hot spinner body," Bianka replied.

The statement brought back the memory of Jamila stripping in the living room in front of all of us. She was determined to do whatever it took to convince us that she was no longer a skank. That even included Alexa and Riley examining her orifices. Bianka declined the invitation to do the honors.

"What is a spinner body?" Stella asked. Her naivety was refreshing. I was glad that no one poked fun of her for it anymore.

"I think that it means petite," Riley answered.

"The kind of body that can easily spin around a stripper pole," Jada added.

"It is funny that you should mention that," I responded. I knew that I had promised to keep Jamila's secret of her former profession. But we might never see her again. And the girls could use a good scandal story to boost their spirits.

"Oh, I knew it," Bianka yelled. "She was a stripper, wasn't she?"

I told them what I knew and touched on my sexual experience with the sexy tiny woman. Not enough to bring on jealousy, I hoped. That would fall under the category of unnecessary negativity.

After a moment of silence, Riley decided to keep the conversation going, but in another direction.

"Will we be returning to a bedroom schedule soon?" my second wife asked. She was simply requesting the information so she could return to organizing that aspect of our lives.

"Whose turn is it?" Stella asked.

"Does the blowjob she gave Mason in the living room count?" Bianka asked. That reaped a big smile from her timid friend.

"I heard that Camilla helped with that one," Jada added.

"I let her lick his balls," Stella whispered bashfully.

There was more laughter at that. But it didn't last long. We just didn't have enough energy for it.

"I can honestly say that I will not be missing her," Bianka said after that. She was of course referring to Camilla. It turned out that no one had really gotten that close to her, not even her former clanmates.

"I wished that I got to choke the life out of her," Alexa mumbled. Jada said that she was thinking the same thing.

"It wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be," Riley stated with a solemn expression, putting a damper on their humor.

I stared at her wondering if she planned to say more. I certainly knew how she felt. I hated killing people. I didn't even like putting rabid animals to death. But it had become a necessary way of life. It was unavoidable at times. Kill or be killed. And that was definitely the case when it came to Riley taking Camilla's life.

"I thought that she was going to be one of us," Riley said quietly as she stared at the center of the living room floor. "We even became friends, somewhat, for a short time. I didn't really want to have to do it, you know. Watching her face as she died was actually a terrible experience. Not one that I will ever forget."

No one wanted to be the next person to speak after that, so we let the silence linger for an uncomfortable period of time. Finally, I decided to end it.

"How about a nap," I suggested.

"I would love one," Alexa said immediately, dropping her head into my lap.

"Me, too," Jada responded. Typically, she would be the last one to admit to fatigue. "But we have some work to do."

"Work that will still be there after our nap," I told her. "Let's start this new chapter in our lives at full strength. Rest, water and something to eat."

"In that order," Alexa mumbled as she snuggled into the fetal position with the back of her head against my crotch. There was some debris in her silky blonde hair. I started picking it out feeling somewhat like a chimpanzee. I just wasn’t going to eat any bugs that I found.

"We can sleep in shifts," Riley suggested, to appease everyone in the group. "Alexa and Mason first. Who wants to join them?"

No one was shy about raising their hand, but most retracted theirs when they saw how many tired souls were in the room. Even exhausted we were a loving group.

"I can wait," Stella informed us. That was her typical self-sacrificing attitude.

"Me, too," Riley said. "We shouldn't have both Jada and Bianka asleep at the same time."

"Agreed," Jada replied. "Bazonka, why don't you go first?"

I hadn't heard Jada call the beautiful blonde that nickname in a while. From just looking at her gorgeous form the name didn't fit. Watching her teach a dozen reborn skanks how to fight is when it made more sense.

It was decided. Even though I was the last one to wake up that morning, I was napping first with two lovely blondes, both of which were not looking near as nice as they normally would. But I was happy to be alive and to have them both close. So, it didn't make any difference to me. I was ready for some cuddle time.

We didn't want to use the beds upstairs until we made sure that they were clean. Alexa directed me to lay on the couch with my head on one arm. I did so on my back expecting her to lay beside me with half her body on top of me. That was her custom. Instead, she insisted that Bianka take that position. With the other three already out of the room, the normally hesitant friend of mine relaxed her guard and did as my first wife suggested.

Bianka's crotch nestled against my thigh as she swung one leg across mine. Her head rested on my chest as I wrapped my arm around her slender shapely torso, pulling her to me. She did not resist in the least. I was grateful that my licking of her firm flat belly earlier didn’t set us back.

Alexa then climbed into position between my legs, lifting Bianka’s momentarily. Her shoulder rested against my privates as her face snuggled up to t
he zipper on my shorts. I was beginning to wonder if I had misunderstood the situation. She then draped one of her sexy legs across Bianka's and put her arm around the other girl's waist.

I badly needed a nap to recuperate from yesterday’s ordeal, but I didn't want to miss out on an opportunity with the two of these beauties together, even as dirty as they were. I wasn't any better for sure. I could still smell the river water on me. But as I lied there waiting to see what would happen, they both fell asleep on me. My excitement was pushing the zipper of my pants into Alexa's face, but she took no note.

I dozed off fantasizing about a threesome with them, in a brand-new home, in a bright new world.
