  CHAPTER THREE:

It was late in the day by the time that I woke up feeling refreshed. Bianka and Alexa were nowhere to be found. Instead, Jada was hovering over me with an unusual expression.

"Wake up butt fucker," she said softly like she was talking to a baby.

  "What?"

"It's time to wake up," Jada answered with a normal voice. "Stella and Riley cleaned up a bed upstairs. They are already asleep."

"Yeah, okay," I replied as I wiped the sleep from my eyes. "Why am I a butt fucker?"

"Obviously," Jada responded with a grin. "It is because you shoved your cock in my ass a couple days ago."

"I only went in a couple inches," I defended myself like I was actually being accused of wrongdoing. "And you told me to do it."

"If you are told to do a job, and you do it..."

"Ah," I jumped in. "If I drove a taxi one time for a few minutes then I am a taxi driver."

  "Something like that."

"What time is it?" I asked as I looked around the living room. There was nothing to see. No other people or personal belongings. Even the useless decor that the owners left behind had been tossed into a box in the corner. Whoever used this place before us left it looking bland, which was fine by me. It helped us remember that it was only temporary.

"Hell, if I know," Jada replied. "Does it even matter anymore?"

I smiled. I wasn't sure why. Maybe because I felt like it was a new day. My women were safe. I was alive and well. I didn't have shit to call my own, but I was awake and ready to tackle the world. I stood up abruptly with a burst of energy from my brain, glancing around for my watch. Jada stepped back quickly in surprise.

"You know what?" I asked rhetorically. "I think that I'd like to fuck your ass for real."

  "What?"

I grabbed her by the hips and attempted to spin her around. "Drop your pants and bend over," I demanded.

"Damn, Mason," she said through her laughter. Then when I started thrusting against her while we were both still dressed, "Get off me!"

I let go and started laughing. She turned toward me and shook her head with a smile. It was obvious that she didn't think it as funny as me, though. She was typically the sexually aggressive one. I just wanted to mark the beginning of a new life with some outrageous behavior.

"Okay," she finally said. "I guess I deserved that."

I put my arms around her again. She struggled at first not realizing what I was doing. I puckered up to make myself clear. She chuckled then and relented. I pulled her close and placed a nice kiss on her lips. Not too passionate, but not sisterly either. The look she gave me in return made me wonder if maybe I should try to bend her over again.

"Where are my blondes?" I asked instead.

Jada almost looked disappointed. "They went in search of water and food before it gets dark. We already searched a dozen houses. Bianka has a rough map to update as she goes."

"Should I join them?" I asked. "Or is there some work here for me to do?"

Jada shook her head and grinned. I could see that she was still thinking about my antics from a moment before. "Mason, you have changed a lot since I first met you."

  "Oh yeah?"

"Yes, you have," she replied just before giving me another quick smooch. Then she slowly pulled away. "For the better, don't get me wrong. I like the new you. More mature in areas that matter to me, but still that same sweet young man in your heart. I think I might be ready..."

  "Ready for what?"

Jada stared into my eyes for a while. What was she ready for? The way she was talking it sounded like someone saying they were ready to settle down, get married. Did she want to formally join my harem of wives? If so, how would that change our relationship?

"What are you two lovebirds up to?" Riley interrupted us as she walked down the stairs.

"Nothing," Jada replied as she turned away from me. "You are supposed to be sleeping," she said then to Riley.

"Yeah, well, so are you." They both placed their hands on their hips in standoff fashion. They were an unusual pair when they were together. Perhaps the least connected to each other emotionally out of the whole group, but still had an immense amount of respect for each other.

"Have you two ever hugged each other?" I asked.

  "Sure," Riley replied unconvincingly.

"I remember at least once," Jada added, closing one eye to demonstrate that she had to think really hard to remember that instance.

  "Just once?"

"Give me a hug," Riley said as she approached Jada. It was comical to see and I expected Jada to refuse, but she didn't. Maybe our conversation had softened her up. Riley pulled her tight and made one of those noises that family make when hugging each other after a long time apart. Her body was so pale and thin compared to Jada's dark and muscular form. Their embrace looked almost unnatural.

One was a confident warrior, an independent woman even before the shitdown, to use Bianka's coined word. Menacing in appearance even at times. The other was a serious-minded business type, like a hard-working dedicated secretary. They each had their roles, and they didn't overlap often. That was the reason for what I perceived to be a gap between them.

"A kiss, too," Riley requested from Jada, her chin lifted, and lips puckered comically. I chuckled as I thought that would certainly be the end of it. But no, Jada kissed her right on the lips. It was short lived and lacked any passion, like two sisters or close cousins. "Do you want some tongue, too?" Riley asked.

"No thank you," Jada answered calmly, still maintaining the embrace.

"Maybe later?" Riley asked with her customary straight face. But I could see the smile in her eyes.

"Probably not," Jada answered as they finally released their tight hold on each other. Riley held Jada's hands then as they remained just inches from each other. "These long skinny fingers of yours might have a use, though."

She did it. Jada got Riley to crack before her. I had never seen it done previously. She smiled as she slowly pulled her hands away while Jada was pretending to study her fingers.

Then Riley whispered, "I love you, Jada." It was a great comeback, because it immediately made Jada feel uncomfortable. She wasn't one to say that to the other girls often, if at all. My dark-skinned lover smiled and nodded, as if admitting defeat, or at least a draw.

When they stepped away from each other I was disappointed. "Wait," I told them. "I was enjoying that."

"Screw you, butt fucker," Jada murmured as she stepped past Riley to leave the room. I could tell that she was just trying to be funny.

"Butt fucker?" Riley asked me with wide eyes. "Did I miss something?"

"No," Jada said as she continued walking away, her voice trailing. "It was just once, and it only went in a couple inches."

"Wow," Riley said. The look she was giving me made me think that she would probably offer anal sex the next time that we share a bed. Then she winced as she clenched her tiny butt cheeks together.

"Okay, okay," I said. "Enough of the jokes. I want to get some work done."

I set out in search of Bianka and Alexa. That was another unusual pair. We hadn't formally determined who should work together. However, the skills of that duo certainly complimented each other. Alexa's ability to sense trouble by feeling the emotions of unseen enemies. Bianka's stealth and close combat battle skills. They'd be fine in most scenarios. Yet, somehow, they had never been grouped together before.

Bianka tended to be uncomfortable around someone that could zone in on her every feeling. Especially since she was wildly attracted to Alexa. Her developing love for me would have been a problem before, but my first wife's jealousy seemed to be almost be a distant memory. In fact, before our nap, she gestured for Bianka to sleep on my chest.

Jada told me which direction they were working through the neighborhood. I didn't want to have to search multiple houses to catch up to them. I figured I wouldn't have to either. Once I got close to Alexa's position, she would sense me coming. I'd just
have to walk slow enough for her to find me instead.

Jada had already worked the right side of Prelude Drive all the way down to include the houses on Prelude Court. The elementary school came right after that. So, Bianka and Alexa searched the homes on the left side of the street. There were several that had long driveways to place them behind other houses. I had to veer off the street to get in what I considered to be Alexa's range. All the while I needed to take basic precautions myself.

Before I reached Prelude Court on the right there was another long driveway on the left. Two mailboxes told me to expect two houses back there. I was moving along that driveway, walking in the grass beside some tall bushes that had grown wild, when the front door to one of them opened. Alexa's beautiful face popped out as she waved at me.

I waved back and made more haste to her position. I figured if there were any bad guys in the area she would already know and would warn me off. I was halfway to the front porch of that house when I noticed her staring in shock somewhere behind me.

"Hurry," she yelled as she pointed in the direction of the street. I turned to see a strange sight indeed. A huge bull was running toward me at full speed with its head low to the ground. The black and white hide was dirty and bloodstained. Open wounds festered on its back and neck. Skin was missing entirely from one of the front legs. It was badly injured but still able to sprint after me. It must be rabid or worse, mutated by a virus.

I started jogging toward the house where Alexa waited as she continued to encourage me to run faster. Looking over my shoulder I saw that the massive beast had increased its speed somehow. I had to turn on my afterburners to make it in the front door before the bull reached me. It ran right up the steps and slammed its head into the door a split second after I closed it. One horn punctured the hollow wooden door and stuck through several inches, almost making contact with Alexa's leg.

  "What the hell?" Bianka asked.

"It's a crazy bull!" Alexa informed her. "It's all fucked up like a zombie!"

I grabbed a bookcase that was close to the door and slid it over to help block the entrance. As soon as I stepped away the bull impacted the door again, knocking the shelves over to send books flying. Behind it was a large hole in the door, but not near big enough for the animal to come through.

Bianka helped me move the couch next, but the fallen bookcase was in the way. Both horns thrust through the door to rip the rest of it off the hinges.

  "Shoot it!" Alexa screamed.

"No," I answered as I pointed toward the stairs. We started climbing up them to the next floor as I explained, "Let's not waste the ammo on an animal that we can't eat. It could also draw attention to us. We have no idea if there are other people nearby. We're too far from the others to make it back and form a combined defense should all hell break loose."

"Hell has already broken loose," Alexa said in a panic. "Did you not see that thing?"

The bull then wrestled its horns free and jumped over the couch like a healthy gazelle, which it certainly was not. Without hesitation it started up the stairs.

"Fuck!" I yelled. My plan wasn't going to work after all. I pulled out my revolver and fired two shots at the crazy animal. One hit the shoulder, but the other got him square in the skull.

The nasty looking bull stumbled on the stairs then, but quickly recovered. That bullet to the brain should have been a death blow.

"It's a fucking zombie bull!" Alexa informed me unnecessarily.

  "I'm not wasting anymore ammo!"

"Well, my knives sure ain't gonna kill it!" Bianka shouted.

I remembered the appearance of the house from the front. There was a carport on the side. I directed my lovely blondes to the bedroom beside it. The window was already busted with jagged glass still in the frame. I grabbed the bedspread off the queen size bed in the room and used it to knock the rest of the glass out before laying it across the eave.

"Hurry!" Alexa yelled again. I could hear the bull reaching the top of the steps. It would try to enter the room any second.

I sent Bianka through first so she could deal with any issues before Alexa followed. It was just a four-foot drop to the carport and it held Bianka's weight when she landed. She caught Alexa in her arms when she dropped down, too. I turned to go ass backwards through the opening. It gave me a clear view of what was coming at me.

The gunshot hole in the bull’s forehead had only a dribble of dark blood spilling from it. One eye was missing, but the other was big and crazy looking enough to make up for it. It spotted me and surged toward the window as I dropped onto the carport. A skull bigger than a microwave oven thrust out the opening where my head had been just a half second ago. It snorted when it stared angrily at me, bloody snot flying onto my face and clothes.

"Fuck!" I repeated my word of the day as I raised up onto both feet. The girls were halfway down the slope of the carport toward the side yard where the drop off to the ground would be about six feet. I knew Bianka's cat skill could handle that easily, but I wanted to be there to catch Alexa when she jumped.

Unfortunately, the structure was not designed to hold that much weight. A post snapped on the rear corner and turned the surface into a slide. I landed on my ass and slid toward the backyard to land on a trash can. By the time I returned to upright, Bianka had Alexa in her arms again. Neither looked injured from the drop to the ground.

"Run!" I yelled as the bull forced its way through the window frame. When its weight hit the carport all the remaining posts broke at once. It caved in the middle to temporarily trap the beast in an aluminum bowl. We kept running toward the street and didn't look back until we reached it. I could see the zombie beast still struggling to get to the ground. It might have been missing a leg at that point. That should make our escape a little easier.

Looking down Prelude Drive I then spotted two men in the street. It didn't look like they had any weapons, but they bolted toward us just the same. We retreated back toward our temporary home to find Jada and Riley standing out front worried about us. They probably heard the gunshots if not the ruckus of the mad bull.

"There are two men behind us," Bianka informed them as we reached the front yard.

Jada pulled her sniper rifle up and dropped to one knee, using the other to steady her aim. The rest of us readied our weapons just in case. But they never appeared. Instead, we heard screaming that suggested the bull was now chasing after them.

"What happened back there?" Riley asked.

I shook my head and replied, "Just some bull..."

  CHAPTER FOUR:

We had to leave any gathered supplies behind in that house where the bull busted through. We weren't particularly excited about going back there to retrieve them. Abandoning enough water and food to last us another day was as depressing as discovering others in our area.

"Did any of the houses look good?" Riley asked as we sat on the sofa to reassess our situation. Her dress had air dried while she was sleeping and almost looked new again. She probably had scrubbed it with something. We had learned how to clean without water using a variety of substances. Simple sand was surprisingly effective.

"No, not really," Bianka responded. "Those guys in the street might be part of a gang using the school. I don't think we should go any farther that way."

"I agree," I told my five favorite ladies. Stella had woken up during the incident, so everyone was in the room. Some had cleaned up more effectively than the others. My chief of security over our previous compound was watching out the front window for any trouble.

"Should we go north?" Jada asked. "Away from the school?"

I remembered my map from before and tried to place where we might be on it. "No, I think that is just townhouses up there."

"I could settle for a nice townhouse," Alexa muttered like we were a couple that just had their house buying dreams crushed by poor credit.

"It's not ideal defensively," Bianka explained to her. They were both sharing a recliner, Bianka's arm around my wife. Alexa'
s leg across the lesbian's lap. Had I missed something? When did these two become inseparable?

"The houses look to be bigger in the next neighborhood," Jada said. "I can see that much through the small strip of woods. The yards are at least four times the size of these places, so we are probably talking more luxury, too. Maybe one of them has solar panels."

I gave it some thought. I was really hoping for a place far away from anyone else. We just weren't likely to find that unless we traveled a couple more miles north, away from Washington DC. We might be better off going back to our old neighborhood, even if some of the houses burnt down.

"We sleep here tonight," I told them. "Tomorrow we'll search the dozen or so houses over there closest to the woods. I'd like to stay near the river."
